Yes

Yes is an English rock music band formed in London in 1968 by singer Jon Anderson and bassist Chris Squire. Pioneers of progressive rock, Yes have achieved worldwide success over 50 years and 22 studio albums.

Anderson had already recorded a single with The Warriors, a beat group founded by his brother Tony, and later recorded several singles for Parlophone Records under the pseudonym Hans Christian. He was also briefly a member of the band Gun. Squire was a member of The Son and his bass guitar playing style was heavily influenced by John Entwistle, a member of The Who.

Their debut self-titled album Yes was released on 25 July 1969. The harmonious vocals of the Anderson–Squire duo immediately became the trademark sound of the group.
