Socio-political fantasy, rooted in the landscape of contemporary Poland. The starting point is the story contained in the book Wyspa, written in 2016 by an Icelandic writer, Sigríður Hagalín Björnsdóttir, published in Poland by Wydawnictwo Literackie in 2018. The story of the catastrophe cutting the country off from the rest of the world (in geographical, communicative, economic terms) is an opportunity to fantasize about the strategy of dealing with a deep and sudden crisis, a borderline existential situation that puts the social community to the test.
And if, one day, a land had come up from under our feet and the hope of the island had been lost on the horizon? Who will be able to settle it if there is not enough room for everyone? Will openness remain open and the declarations of a democratic society warming up our civic hearts still remain valid? _The performance is an experiment on its own empathy.
