Wolves at the Borders + discussion

Online screening of movie “Wolves at the Borders” and discussion with the director Martin Páv, will be part of the festival “One World 2021”.

Wolves at the Borders / Martin Páv / Czech Republic 2020 / 77 min / English friendly – On one side, sheep farmers and landowners are worried about their animals. On the other, an organic farmer and some locals welcome the arrival of wolves, seeing in them an opportunity to restore the natural balance. The whole situation is overseen by the eccentric mayor of Vernéřovice. Disputes over the invisible enemy begin with a debate over beer in a pub and then escalate into massive protests. The film is an observational mosaic of various motivations, attitudes and fears that accompany the defenders and opponents of wolves in the open countryside.
