“We Protect You From Yourselves” exhibition event.

As part of the opening weekend Biennale Warsaw organizes a meeting with the artists from the Democracia collective, the creators of the exhibition We Protect You From Yourselves and the Syrena collective. The meeting, in the format of artists talk, will focus on the political context of the works from the series We Protect You From Yourselves and police methods of control and pacification in recent years. Why artists imitate the language of power in their interventions. What difficulties have they encountered in the realization of the opera Porządek, which presents the problem of social inequality? And what is crucial in the context of the title of the meeting: what motivated both collectives to act and, in the case of Democracies, to use art as a form of protest?
