Who's Afraid of Nathan Law?

Joe Piscatella’s 2017 film Joshua: Teenager vs. Superpower focused on Joshua Wong, a student who became one of the main faces of the Umbrella Revolution in Hong Kong. In his new documentary, Piscatella turns the camera on Wong’s two friends and colleagues, Agnes Chow and Nathan Law

A dynamic mix of interviews and compelling footage from demonstrations and TV reports shows the joint efforts of these three young dissidents who have been actively opposing China's growing influence in Hong Kong since 2014.

In this retrospective narrative, we experience with them the exhaustion and frustration of their seemingly futile struggle against a totalitarian superpower, but also brief moments of joy at the partial victories of democracy – such as when Law, at 23, becomes the youngest legislator in the country’s history.
