WGW 2019: Deep Impact – Stefan Gierowski i europejska awangarda lat 60.

The exhibition is taking place as part of the Warsaw Gallery Weekend.

1960s: Space is getting closer and closer, jobs are trembling, societies are boiling with change. Powerful shock waves propagate not only in artistic circles. At the same time, the avant-garde tries to convey the momentum of these activities. Stefan Gierowski's painting of this period looks at the phenomenon of movement - it seeks a moment of movement at its beginning. Thus, it fits into the history of artistic experiments of that time. Gauthier creates an alternative history - a history unlimited by the divisions marked by walls and curtains, a history of common flows, languages and fascination. A history of the reset of a painting dictionary. Finally, the history in which the work of Stefan Gierowski becomes a guide to the art world undergoing radical transformations.
