Volker Pohlmann
Volker Pohlmann received his first trumpet lessons from Rolf Hammann in Detmold. In 1990 he began his trumpet studies at the HdK Berlin with Robert Platt (Berliner Philharmoniker). In 1994 he joined the Thüringen Philharmonic Suhl for half a year as deputy principal trumpet. He left the orchestra at his own request to receive a scholarship at the Herbert von Karajan Foundation (Orchestra Academy of the Berlin Philharmonic). Since 1995 Volker Pohlmann has been principal trumpet of the Lower Saxony State Orchestra Hanover.
