Chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) is a serious illness whose causes are not yet medically understood. Young filmmaker Jennifer, who suffers from the illness, records her life and those of other patients from whom the disease has taken almost everything.

"It was like I had died but was forced to watch as the world move on," says filmmaker Jennifer Brea, describing her condition. The well-travelled young woman had a promising future ahead of her and a loving partner at her side. After suffering several infections, her physicians diagnosed her with chronic fatigue syndrome. Now, except for occasional fluctuations, she is bound to her bed or a wheelchair. She discovers that millions of people all over the world suffer from this mysterious disease, in silent seclusion, for years and decades. Yet there is desperately little awareness of the causes and nature of this often fatal disease.
