Over the last couple of years, Dante Lam has established himself as a prominent Hong Kong action director with a distinctive style, exceeding previous accomplishments with each subsequent project. After a string of movies filled with gunfights and car chases, his latest project gives us a thrilling, yet humorous and lyrical sports drama set in the world of Mixed Martial Arts matches. Portraying personal lives and sport ambitions of a duo of fighters, the film became the most successful domestic movie of 2013 and Nick Cheung’s excellent performance has yielded him a number of nominations for the upcoming annual awards.
