UFO im Velodrom
Velodrom is located at Landsberger Allee in direct proximity to the S-train station with the same name in the district Prenzlauer Berg and is one of the biggest event halls in Berlin. In the same time the 1997-opened building that offers space for around 12.000 spectators is used as a cycling track.
The Velodrom is considered the Mecca of Berlin's bicycle racing, since the Berlin Six-Day Race or Six Days Berlin has been held there since 1997, in addition to numerous concerts.
For concerts with up to 5.000 spectators the upper tiers are covered with black fabric and the venue is then called „UFO“.
A lot of national and international artists and bands played concerts at Velodrom, among them Britney Spears, Robbie Williams, Kylie Minogue, Daft Punk, Gwen Stefani, The Cure, the Beastie Boys, Scooter and Florence + The Machine.
Besides the regular events the hall also offers guided tours for visitors.
