Volmanova vila – klenot českého funkcionalismu

Guided tour of one of the most important functionalist buildings of the First Republic by architects Karel Janů and Jiří Štursa. In Czech.

The largest villa in Bohemia was built in 1938–1939 for Josef Volman, the owner of the Čelákovice factory, and shows how its creators, representatives of scientific, left-oriented functionalism, were well aware of current European trends and were able to process them into an exceptional building.

Visitors will learn about the life story of Josef Volman and the dramatic fate of the house, which was resurrected from its completely disastrous state to its present form according to the project of architect Marek Tichý from TaK Architects.

Practical information:

  • Entrance to the park is possible 15 minutes before the start of the tour.
  • Group reservations should be made at info@vilavolman.cz.
