Alt-J
The work of the band Alt-J is a blend of electronic music, brit pop and rock. The British trio, comprising Joe Newman (vocals, guitar), Gus Unger-Hamilton (vocals, keyboards), Thom Sonny Green (drums), emphasise that their music cannot be classified into one genre. The band owes its distinctive sound to the combination of vocals and choruses with synth sounds, offbeat rhythmic structures and non-obvious melodic lines. Alt-J debuted with the album An Awesome Wave, which was a huge success and was awarded the prestigious Mercury Prize.
