Jacek Mazurkiewicz
Jacek Mazurkiewicz is a bassist involved in the Warsaw improvised music scene. He puts his sounds together based on emotional impressions and pulse; combining acoustics with electronics, he is always looking for new sounds. He is mainly involved in original projects—3fonia, Modular String Trio, Gabinet Masażu Ucha Wewnętrznego, Jachna / Mazurkiewicz / Buhl, Mikołaj Trzaska & Jacek Mazurkiewicz. His most recent activity is working towards using electricity from plants for musical purposes in the laboratory of the UMCS in Lublin. He has taken part in the realisation of some forty albums, along the way collaborating with, among others, Norman Westberg (Swans), Mikołaj Trzaska and the entire pantheon of the Polish free jazz scene. Mazurkiewicz also does sound design, composing and producing music for films and theatre performances, and conducts original sound and music workshops.
