The Choir of the CTU Prague

The choir was established 1949. Since 1986 the choir has worked under the name of the Czech Technical University in Prague. In 1994 it became part of the Artistic Association CTU which signed a contract of collaboration with CTU in 1995. The choir of CTU is a mixed choir. Its repertoir is rich ranging from renaissance music to that of contemporary music both in a capella versions and accompanied by organ, piano or chamber orchestra. At present there are 50 members in the choir. The choir CTU has given concerts on exchange tours in Germany, Italy, France, the Netherlands and it has also taken part in the European competition of choirs in Saarbruecken. The list of works sung by the choir includes larger pieces such as the Czech Christmas Mass by J.J. Ryba, the Czech Christmas Mass by an unknown composer, Mass in G - Major by F. Schubert, Missa brevis by a contemporary composer Z. Lukas. Other pieces are by composers such as W.A. Mozart, J.S.Bach, V.J. Kopriva, K.B. Kopriva, G.F. Haendel, F.X. Brixi, D. Buxtehude, A. Bruckner, A. Dvorak, C. Franck, C.Debussy, G.Verdi, G.Rossini, S.Rachmaninov, L. Janacek, Z.Lukas. The choir´s chief conductor is Jan Steyer and Karel Prokop. The vocal trainig is done by Daniela Radosa.
