The Pretty Reckless

The Pretty Reckless formed in 2009 after then 16-year-old frontwoman Taylor Momsen made headlines for her decision to end her acting career and leave her leading role in the then record-breaking Gossip Girl. While the more conservative elements of the rock establishment were at first sceptical of the teenage girl-fronted band, over time this animosity has faded; The Pretty Reckless have opened shows for Guns N' Roses and Soundgarden, and have several rock chart hits to their credit. Their sound combines classic hard rock and the post-grunge ouvre of the era with Momsen's charismatic voice, which has been compared to Shirley Manson of Garbage.
