Outskirts is an English-language twice-yearly magazine of around 160 pages per issue, made up of original essays, interviews, reviews, and a single large dossier. The first issue features interviews with Kazuo Hara, Rita Azevedo Gomes, texts on Alain Guiraudie’s novels vs. films, and, among many other things, an 80-page dossier on the films of Boris Barnet—featuring original essays on all of Barnet’s films alongside new translations, longer texts, stills (from Russian archives now closed to the world), and original interviews with the likes of Pierre Léon.
