Cancelled: The Ears

The Ears is a combination of alternative, rock and jazz music. It is music in which the word, the sound and the emotions that are the common denominator of our lives are important. Concerts are a fusion of four elements. The Ears create their songs from stories heard in blocks of flats, from the hustle and bustle of the city and street legends. They are like a radar, catching from our everyday life what can be inspiring. Their lyrics combine generational experience of growing up in the times of transformation with careful observation of the present. The Ears' concerts are impetuous and offer a full spectrum of emotions, from melancholic rapture to hard-to-control euphoria. The originator of the project is Marta Uszko, a native of Wrocław, an energetic actress currently working at Teatr Polski in Szczecin. Charismatic, filigree, endowed with a distinctive voice, the vocalist has worked with some of the best on the Polish entertainment music market, including composer Krzesimir Dębski, musician Mateusz Pospieszalski or Bartosz Dziedzic - producer of Monika Brodka's well-received album Granda. Marta Uszko in 2016 invited musicians with jazz roots to the project: Tomasz Licak (saxophone, bass clarinet), Michał Starkiewicz (guitar) and Maciej Wróbel (drums). Her delicate, bright voice perfectly contrasts with expressive rhythm section, modern electronics and spacious guitars. The meeting of these strong musical personalities in September 2018 resulted in the mini album Wielka płyta, which was created under the supervision of Mela Koteluk's producer Miłosz Wośko. Songs on the album are melancholic and rough at the same time, they lead us through the streets of the city - mysterious, romantic and dark.
