This is a concert for those who have watched Buen Vista Social Club’s film with baked goods on their faces and appreciate musical events that are fun, are full of heat and passion. The Cuban Latin Jazz in the Music of Buena Vista project is a huge dose of music from Cuba. It is a combination of jazz, Latin music and Cuban rhythms.
The band consists of Roland’s double bass player Grzegorz Abreu Krysztofiak, a Cuban-born musician who went to Wrocław to study at the Academy of Music, where he studied classical music. The saxophonist Taras Bakovsky, who played at the Ukrainian festivals Odessa Jazz and Musical Dialogues, comes from Ukraine. The pianist Paweł Kukuła started in Grudziądz, went to Warsaw and finally to the Academy of Music in Wrocław. The Cuban Latin Jazz’s fourth musician is drummer Dominik Jaske. Yaremi Kordos, a vocalist born in Havana, will be a special guest of the band. From a very young age she has been living music because she comes from a very musical family. She graduated from Amadeo Roldan music school. At the age of 19 she started her vocal adventure in one of the best places in Cuba - “Macumba Habana Show”. She recorded several albums with different artists, one of the most important being Flor de Amor (Omar Potuondo) and Lost and found (Buena Vista Social Club). In 2004 she was invited to Poland by Jose Torres as a vocalist in his band.
