TENSIDE is a German metal band from Munich, that was formed in 2004.
In 2005 they released their first Demo Insolence and won a radio show band contest, allowing them to play at the Young-and-Free-Festival in front of 25 000 people.
Their debut album My Personal War was released in 2007 and they toured through Germany and parts of Europe. They recorded three more albums. In 2012 Tobi Leitner (Guitar) and Louis Weber (Schlagzeug) left the band and were replaced by Michael Klingenberg (Senses May Wither) und former Silent-Decay drummer Florian Schönweit. Since the new line up two more albums have been recorded and the band has toured through Europe and other parts of the world. In January of 2018 drummer Florian Schmid declared the end of his personal career and subsequently left the band.
Especially on their first albums the band was oriented on the sound of new metal. Since their third album Mental Satisfaction (2008) influences from groove and modern metals can be heard as well. Every now and then the band will be described as metal core.
