Synagoga Kolín
The existence of the synagogue is documented as early as 1422, and its current early Baroque appearance was determined by a reconstruction completed in 1696. In 1815, the building was extended into the outer bailey of the adjacent city fortifications, and between 1844 and 1846, a new Jewish school was built and connected to the synagogue, thus creating the northern loggia. It served its original purpose until the de facto demise of the Kolín Jewish community in 1953. The interior features preserved early Baroque stucco decoration and a tabernacle (aron ha-kodesh) from the late 17th century.
