A meeting in Polish with Dionisios Sturis and Dorota Wellman organised by the publishing house Great Litera and Wydawnictwo Poznańska.
The Greeks know that the most beautiful and joyful things happen at the table and that cooking can convey more than words can. Following this theme, on 27 September at 6 p.m., there will be a joint cooking and conversation about Greece. Dionisios Sturis and Dorota Wellman will meet in Warsaw’s culinary studio to teleport themselves to Greece with food and stories. Together they will prepare one of the dishes according to Dionis' own recipe from the book Kalimera. Grecka kuchnia radości – most probably briam, i.e. roasted vegetables with feta cheese and fresh herbs, a real flavour bomb. The finished briam will land on the plates of the meeting participants. But before the vegetables come out of the oven, Wellman and Sturis will talk about Greece, its people and customs, as well as its darker face, which Dionis describes in his book of reportage Zachód słońca na Santorini. It will be about Greekness, and therefore about identity and the process of constructing it, about what it means today to be Greek, Polish or even to have an ancestry at all. Participation in the event is possible live and online.
The event will also be available online.
