Danny Dziuk is an exception among the German-speaking songwriters and is undoubtedly one of the best in his genre. He is rightly considered an eloquent stylist and at the same time a gifted singer and musician. His musical preferences are closer to Americana than the French chanson tradition. Also world music or jazz sounds appear in his music, which comes along easily and underlines the poetic texts. Texts full of charm and dry humor that laconically and almost casually recount everyday life or the intricacies of love. Be it poetic, melancholic or simply witty, there are also very concrete political statements in the texts that find their expression far removed from any songwriter’s concern.
Karl Neukauf is an extremely talented young face on the Berlin chanson scene, blessed with a tremendous talent for writing and a deep-warm baritone voice.
