Sofia Kourtesis
Sofia Kourtesis is a Peruvian producer, singer and DJ based in Berlin. She was born in the Magdalena district of Lima. She started her music career in 2014 with her debut EP This Is It. This was followed by an EP in 2019 and Sarita Colonia in 2020. In 2021, she released the EP Fresia Magdalena. In 2022, she collaborated with Manu Chao on the single Estación Esperanza. Her debut album Madres was released in October 2023.
Kourtesis is known for her style, which combines dance music with political and meditative elements. She often uses field recordings and organic sounds, which she combines with electronic beats to create dreamy and atmospheric music.
