Smash Into Pieces
The band Smash Into Pieces is a Swedish music group formed in 2008 in the city of Örebro. The original lineup consisted of vocalist Chris Adam Hedman Sörbye, guitarists Benjamin Jennebo and Per Bergquist, bassist Viktor Vidlund, and drummer Isak Snow. The band released its first single, Fading, in 2009. In 2012, the group signed a contract with the label Gain Music Entertainment, which is part of Sony Music Entertainment, and in the same year received the Best Newcomer award at the Bandit Rock Awards.
The debut album Unbreakable was released in April 2013 and reached seventh place on the Swedish album chart. Following its release, the band embarked on a European tour, performing as a supporting act for groups such as Amaranthe, Alter Bridge, and Halestorm. The second album, The Apocalypse DJ, was released in 2015 and marked a lineup change when drummer Isak Snow was replaced by a member performing under the pseudonym APOC.
The band released its third album, Rise and Shine, in 2017, followed by Evolver in 2018. In the following years, Smash Into Pieces continued to release new material regularly — Arcadia in 2020, A New Horizon in 2021, and Disconnect in 2022. Their eighth studio album, titled Ghost Code, was released in April 2024.
Smash Into Pieces took part in the Swedish national competition Melodifestivalen, which serves as the selection process for the Eurovision Song Contest. In 2023, they competed with the song Six Feet Under, reaching the final and achieving second place on the Swedish singles chart. The following year, they participated again with the song Heroes Are Calling, which placed third in the final round.
The band’s musical style is defined by a combination of elements from alternative rock, electronic rock, and metal. Throughout its career, the group has undergone several lineup changes, with the core currently consisting of vocalist Chris Adam Hedman Sörbye, guitarist Benjamin Jennebo, guitarist Per Bergquist, and drummer APOC.
