Slovak Sinfonietta Žilina
The Slovak Sinfonietta Žilina was founded in 1974 as the only orchestra of the „Mozart type" in Slovakia. The orchestra has 35 members. The quality of the players, the experience, and the mastery of the first chief conductor, Eduard Fischer, enabled the rapid artistic growth of the orchestra. His other chief conductors were Jan Valta, Leoš Svárovský, Oliver Dohnányi and Simon Chalk. The orchestra is housed in the Fatra House of Arts in Žilina.
