Skansen w Kuligowie nad Bugiem
Scenic= Mazovian countryside, floodplains of the Bug river, roadside shrines, forests and fields... It does not take much to move from crowded Warsaw to the Polish countryside and relax from the hustle and bustle of the big city. The surroundings of the open-air museum in Kuligowo are a very interesting region. Wojciech Urbanowski, the founder of the open-air museum in Kuligów, describes the area on the museum's website in the following way: "it is a place where the influences of these two regions mixed and intermingled, where Catholics, Orthodox, Evangelicals and Jews lived side by side in harmony, where both a native Mazovian and a singing Podlasie inhabitant came to the fair. This cultural landscape - wooden cottages covered with natural materials, hand-made tools, the language they used to speak, as well as the natural landscape - a flat, monotonous landscape not particularly rich in colors - I still keep in my memory.
