Shug La Sheedah
Hip-Hop, Soul | Rashida, also known as Shug La Sheedah, was born and raised in Utrecht and discovered hip-hop at a young age. She soon started as a hip-hop dancer and grew a deeper passion for the culture and movement. She had always been interested in music, so it was a logical consequence she would end up behind the decks.
Shug La Sheedah is a DJ playing Carribbean sounds and hip-hop, delivering urban and eclectic vibes. She is passionate about her craft and has a hand for music, captivating the listeners with her feel good vibes and her journeys through r'n'b, classic tracks, hip-hop, afro tunes or disco.
Shug La Sheedah is part of the female hip-hop platform The DamDutchess presenting national and international showcases and real, raw hip-hop. Besides her music career she has collected experience with theater productions and teaching.
She hosts her own party series at Amsterdam's Waterkant names #Shug as well as an afro party called Kingdom of Zamunda taking place in Amsterdam and Utrecht, the latter a collaboration with 13 Dozijn. Rashida is a resident at Nyx club, Bird Rotterdam and Chicago Social Club.
