Shinedown
Rock | The Jacksonville, Florida band Shinedown formed in 2001. Singer Brent Smith signed to Atlantic Records with his previous band; however, the label was ultimately only interested in working with him, so Smith recruited a band and Shinedown was formed. Their debut album Leave a Whisper (2003) fit perfectly into the post-grunge zeitgeist outlined by bands like Creed and Puddle of Mudd and went platinum, and since then Shinedown has been a rock radio fixture, with 18 singles reaching number one on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart. The band's most recent release is the conceptual Planet Zero (2022).
