Sephardic and Baroque Songs
The baritone Tomáš Král has a clear professional artistic profile, excelling in Bach’s cantatas and Zelenka’s Lamentations. Recently, however, another kind of music has entered his life. In 2013, he met the charismatic soprano Tehila Nini Goldstein on stage, in whose body circulates Yemeni, American and Jewish blood. For a few years now, they have been living as a married couple in Berlin. In an exclusive program in the Early Music series, we shall hear Moravian and Yemeni songs alongside passionate arias from a time when, at European crossroads, the Baroque world was emerging. Who else should sing about love if not this couple? Who else should be singing about the enrichment of cultures when they cross?
