In June there will be a meeting with an unusual band, whose music is located somewhere between structure and fluctuation, plan and spontaneity, is a resultant of rational thought and wild instinct. Scratching fork plays unconventional, original and very contemporary. Circular-jazz trio of Toruń musicians exists since 2015. The band develops their musical project without looking at trends, focusing on their goals, emotions and remembering their own Kujawy roots.
Like the first song of Iluvatar, the idea of forming the group germinated in the mind of guitarist Marek Malinowski, who decided to invite two musicians from Toruń: Wojtek Zadrużyński (drums) and Robert Rychlicki (double bass), who have been companions in the rhythm section for years. Already after the first rehearsal they both became fascinated with the music offered by Marek. Adding a portion of their own sounds and emotions, they began to become part of the band. On 29 January 2021 the debut album of the band was released by Listen Foundation. The album was released under the media patronage of Jazzarium and Polish-Jazz. The opinion-forming portal Polish-Jazz announced the album Scratching Fork as their album of the month.
