Marius Lucas-Antonio Listhrop (born June 19, 1994 in Wolverhampton), better known as Scarlxrd, is a British rapper and singer.
Scarlxrd is a global trailblazer in merging hard-hitting trap beats with visceral metal energy, carving out a unique space in the music world. Known for his high-energy performances and distinct aesthetic, Scarlxrd has built a dedicated fanbase worldwide, pushing the boundaries of alternative music and digital storytelling.
He is known for his style of music, which is a mixture of metal and the hip-hop subgenre trap. His career began as a web video producer on YouTube under the name Mazzi Maz. In 2014, he founded Nu-Metal band Myth City, whose frontman he became. The video for his song Heart Attack reached over 55 million views on YouTube. Scarlxrd's combination of trap music and heavy metal is now understood by the term "trap metal", which includes the music of many Soundcloud rappers. As musical influences he mentions artists like Missy Elliott, Nelly and Eminem but also Linkin Park, Rage Against the Machine and Incubus. He is known for replacing the letter 'x' with 'o' as shown by his stage name.
