3. Torsten Pulse from the Lucky Leles: _ Wrong Notes? Right Time! Introducing the Ukulelebass as a Teamplayer_
The ukulelebass still seems to be a little exotic for many musicians and ukuleleplayers. Therefore, the workshop starts with a short introduction to the specifics of the ukulelebass. More than any other instrument the bass is meant to be played together with others in bands and ensembles. The priority of groovy time over “correct” notes while playing together will be the theme of the workshop. The participants will deal with the value of pauses and the length of notes, also with useful rhythm-patterns in a band. They might be surprised by learning that there are far fewer “wrong” notes in bass-lines than they expected.
Andreas David: Hawaii Meets Ireland
This class will focus on learning how to listen to what is going on in a song. The participants will find ways of working out which chords they might be hearing in a particular key and how and when those chords change. This class will be practical and the participants will be doing a lot more playing than learning musical theory. However, at the end of the workshop they should have a much better understanding of how to work out a song for yourself and play it without the chord sheet. Class for any wooden uke.
