As always, the Czech Ukulele Festival will provide a wide selection of workshops from beginner level to master classes. Everybody can find something for themselves. It is possible to borrow a ukulele for the beginners workshops but participants have to bring their own for more advanced ones. Two blocks are planned for Saturday and two for Sunday.
Victoria Vox (1): Introduction to Left Hand Movement (chord melody)
- The participants will learn an instrumental celtic-style song (Ship Goes Down), with chords and melody. Based off a C major scale, they will be using chord and non-chord tones – applied with the technique of strumming and plucking, which will outline the melody. The workshop will also be using hammer-ons and pull-offs as a left-hand technique. Music and tab will be provided. Techniques and concepts from this class can be applied to any song, and will change the player plays. The workshop is intermediate, in English, 325 CZK.
Andreas David: Picking and strumming techniques in Country and Bluegrass
- The participants will learn and improve their playing techniques with Andreas, who not only is one of Europe´s most skillful players, but his knowledge of the ukulele world and types of ukulele is magnificent. The workshop is intermediate, in English, 325 CZK.
Silke and Torsten from the Lucky Leles: Singing while playing the ukulele
- Everybody does it, some better than others. Here is a chance to study with Silke and Torsten who will demonstrate and help you with many techniques and tips to help you improve your performance. For beginner/intermediate participants, in English, 325 CZK.
Marcela Brožová (1): Absolute beginners, adults and children
- A workshop for those who have never played the ukulele or have just started. Ukuleles will be provided for this workshop if participants do not own one. For beginners, in Czech and English, 250 CZK.
