Sasha Smirnova
Sasha Smirnova is a Barcelona-based architect and visual artist who is exploring digital media for live performances, nightlife events, and interactive installations.
With her work, she aims to fill the gap between artistic practice and nightlife by bringing together the entertainment and theory. She likes to experience with generative and parametric visual elements, searching for unexpected combinations of shapes and colors that lead to new sequences creating a feedback loop of visual experiences.
She has performed at different venues and clubs, her work was shown at various galleries and museums. Together with curator Vera Kavaleuskaya and musician Eugene Markin, Sasha also forms an artist collective that explores an intrinsic relationship between technology and collective subjectivity in near future and now working with digital and time-based media and participatory art and language.
