The shape of the moment
On Wednesday we invite you to experience two forms of modern jazz. A prominent Czech saxophonist will balance between traditional jazz and original multi-genre combinations. The subsequent concert in the hands of European musical stars will be full of spontaneous and unexpected twists, bringing together a thousand different sensations and emotions.
19:00 Samuel Blaser Trio (CH/FR/DK)
Samuel Blaser – trombone
Marc Ducret – guitar
Peter Bruun – DM
Samuel Blaser Trio (CH/FR/DE) develops a kinetic musical language and a delicate synergy guided by its members’ tastes and character of the situation. The three musicians build on each other’s ideas and transform them into a collaborative piece. The trio’s versatile form means it can march, crumble, dance or come up in flames, whatever the situation demands.
Luboš Soukup – saxophones, clarinet
Vojtěch Procházka – piano, keyboards
Rastislav Uhrík – double bass
Jakub Švejnar – drums
Four Czech jazzmen comprise the Soukup/Procházka/Uhrík/Švejnar quartet. What characterizes them is spontaneity, a deep focus on collaborative improvisation, and vintage sounds. Their brilliant skills as soloists are accentuated by perfect swing and groove rhythmicity.
