Ryszard Lubieniecki
Composer, musicologist, instrumentalist, improviser. A graduate of Bachelor's studies in the class of Professor Bettina Skrzypczak (composition) and Master's studies in the class of Professor Jerzy Kaszuba and Dr. Stanisław Miłek (accordion) at the Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz. Currently he is a PhD student at the Institute of Musicology of the University of Wrocław, where he mainly deals with the music of the 14th and 15th centuries. Apart from the accordion, he also plays on an organ portrait. In 2014, together with Zofia Ilnicka (flute) and Jakub Wosik (violin), he founded Trio Layers, a contemporary music ensemble, with whom he premiered works by Alannah Marie Halay, Josue W. Amador and Piotr Bednarczyk. Since 2016 he has performed as a soloist, performing new compositions for amplified accordion. Specially for him, works by Dominik Karski, Alannah Marie Halay, Gilberto Agostinho and Mateusz Śmigasiewicz were created. In June 2019 the publishing house Nasz Nagrania released his debut album Seeds. As an improviser, he is active on the Wrocław scene of improvised music, creating, among others, Lubieniecki/Rupniewski, Disquiet and Widzicie bands. In 2019, together with singer Julieta Gonzalez-Springer, he founded the Vox Imaginaria early music band.
