About Roman Trekel
After his singing apprentice the baritone Roman Trekel became a member of the ensemble of the State Opera uNter den Linden, Berlin. He has stayed connected to the house and his general musical director Daniel Barenboim ever since. He gave guest performances on stages such as the Teatro alla Scala, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, the State Operas in Munich and Hamburg, the Semperoper Dresden, the Opea Houses in Amsterdam, Brussels, Vienna, Zürich, Tokyo and at the Bayreuth Festival, where he stood out in his parade role as Wolfram von Eschenbach in Tannhäuser.
Besides in roles of his subject, Roman Trekel has imposed in dramatic and character roles.
Besides his activity on the opera stage he is a popular concert singer and has made music with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Cleveland Orchestra, Houston Symphony Orchestra, Israel Philharmonic Orchestra and many more. Roman Trekel is one of the most successful song interprets of his time. Since more than two years, he is teaching singing at the Berlin university Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin, teaches master classes and is invited as a jury member in international competitions on a regular base.
