About Robin Guthrie & Harold Budd
One of the most avant-garde music of composers past fifty years, Harold Budd, with musician Robin Guthrie first met in the mid-eighties. It was then in a joint session with the trio Cocteau Twins, from which emerged as joint album The Moon and the Melodies. Again, their journey together ten years ago on the soundtrack to the film drama Gregg Araki, Mysterious Skin. Although that was nearly seventy veteran Budd has already announced an end to his musical career, Guthrie finally convinced him to its continuation and the result was the album After The Night Falls and Before The Day Break issued in 2007 to mark Darla Records. A few years ago two gentlemen prepared a fourth common feat called Bordeaux, where brooding guitar surfaces and minimalist piano conjures amazing emotive ambient.
