Rage Against The Machine (short: RATM) is a crossover band from Los Angeles. It was founded in 1991 by Zack de la Rocha (vocals), Tom Morello (guitar), Tim Commerford (bass) and Brad Wilk (drums). The lyrics by front man de La Rocha deal with political, social and also personal problems, which the band expresses in a mix of metal, hip-hop, punk, funk and alternative rock. After their self-titled debut in 1991, the band released several more albums such as Evil Empire (1996), Renegades (2000) or Democratic National Convention 2000.
