Pueri Cantores Sancti Nicolai

The Boys' Choir Pueri Cantores Sancti Nicolai is an amateur singing group from Bochnia promoting musical culture and liturgical singing. Pueri Cantores Sancti Nicolai was founded by the Basilica of St. Nicolas in Bochnia in 1987 on the initiative of Father Stanislaw Adamczyk. The choir has over a hundred members, mainly children and youth aged 10-20 who, apart from singing, learn self-discipline, concentration, responsibility and accuracy in teamwork, self-criticism and, above all, experience the joy of creating and experiencing beauty in service to God and people.

The choir performs a versatile sacred repertoire ranging from a cappella works from the 16th to the 21st century, including two-choir and several-voice compositions, to larger vocal and instrumental forms, as well as Black spirituals and standards of contemporary popular music. It has given concerts in Austria, the Czech Republic, France, Spain, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Germany, Slovakia and Italy; it has participated in many international competitions and festivals. The choir is a member of the National and World Federation of Pueri Cantores, and has been active as an Artistic Association since 1992.
