About Przemysław Scheller
Born in 1990 in Gliwice, Poland. He graduated Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice in the composition class of Aleksander Lasoń and Conservatoire national supérieur musique et danse de Lyon in the class of Philippe Hurel receiving a master in arts diploma with honours. He won numerous prizes on international and national composition competitions. He was a scholarship holder of the Ensemble musikFabrik Köln (Germany) and Tempo Reale Firenze (Italy). Twice awarded by Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage for outstanding artistic achievements. He collaborated with such ensembles as Camerata Silesia, the OMN – New Music Orchestra, Ensemble musikFabrik, defunensemble. His works have been performed at many prestigious festivals, including Warsaw Autumn, Musica Polonica Nova, Janáčkův máj. The main area of his composition is electroacoustic and chamber music where he explores different artistic ideas – usage of ethnic instruments, interactive or multimedia music. Currently, he is a lecturer of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Music of the University of Silesia and working on his Ph.D. in Katowice.
