Concert of contemporary music Space Dissonance will introduce compositional procedures for working with sound in space. The first of this year’s cycle of concerts of contemporary music selected by the Polish music critic Daniel Brożek will present composers from Poland, Italy and Germany. Accordion players and flying loudspeakers.

Programme: – Lucio Capece: Space Tuning – Conditional Music (2013) for flying and PA loudspeakers, boxes, soprano saxophone, site-specific recordings – Hubert Zemler: Pupation of Dissonance (2016) for percussion/drums and analogue synthesisers – Teoniki Rożynek: Halocline II (2016) for two accordions, bass accordion and sampler – Claudio Jacomucci: Vortex (2014) for three accordions – Teoniki Rożynek: Untone (2017) for a four-track magnetic tape

The composition by Lucio Capece directly relates to the acoustic properties of the space – it is based on an analysis of its spectral sound reflection and uses moving sound objects. The percussionist Hubert Zemler also derives his compositions from the experience of sound in space. His latest composition, Pupation of Dissonance, examines new sound combinations of percussion instruments. The accordion trios by the composers Teoniki Rożynek and Claudio Jacomucci provide an opportunity to investigate the sound complexity and spatial behaviour of the sound of this instrument. The concert will end with a quadratic composition by Teoniki Rożynek, based on recordings made underwater in a lake, an organ and electric installations.
