The year is 1984. The British Prime Minister is Margaret Thatcher, nicknamed the Iron Lady. During her reign, miners' riots peaked in the country. During Gay Pride in London, a group of activists decide to help their families and organize a fundraiser for them. But the miners' union is reluctant to accept their help. The reason is simple. They would not like to face the accusation that the miners' union openly sympathizes with the gay movement. But the activists decide to ignore their decision and head straight to a smaller village in Wales, where they intend to hand over the proceeds directly to the families. And so begins an extraordinary story of two different communities that eventually results in a surprising partnership.
