Powerplant

Powerplant is a synthpunk project from London. Originally a solo venture by Theo Zhykharyev, who is now the leader of the quartet operating under this name. Their music contains elements typical of modern synthpunk: catchy melodies combine with a frenetic rhythm section and distorted synths. At the same time, it is hard to find among similar projects a band with such idiosyncratic production and a masterfully introduced atmosphere of danger, reminiscent of 90s dungeon synth. Powerplant already have three studio albums to their credit, including their latest for the London punk/hardcore label Static Shock.
