It is night; Antigone defies the decree of the new king of Thebes, Creon, and buries his brother. That brother, Polynices, was a casualty of the rebellion and an alleged traitor to the throne. This event threatens Creon’s crown. Antigone is brought before Creon and argues that her moral obligations outweigh Creon’s political interest. In their discourse, they discuss life, politics, humanity, and morality. Along the way, she defends her reasoning; Creon sees how Antigone resembles her father, Oedipus, the former king who unwittingly fulfilled his prophecy to commit patricide and incest. Throughout their confrontation, Antigone owns her decision and accepts that she’ll share the same fate as her father. She proves to Creon that it’s more than blood that she and Oedipus share.

This re-imagination is an exploration of the three Theban plays touching on politics, morality, prophecy, and fate leading man to seek the truth regardless of the repercussions he might face.
