About Piotr Lemańczyk
A bass and double bass player, composer. One of the most extraordinary double bass players on the Polish jazz scene. He was twice a winner of Jazz Juniors in Cracow, the most significant jazz competition in Poland (in 1995 and 1996, awarded for individuality, composition and best instrumentalist.
In 1996 at Jazz nad Odrą festival he won a prize for composition and at Pomorska Jesień Jazzowa festival he received “Golden Key to the Career”.
Lemańczyk is a member of many leading jazz bands in Poland and the only European member of the American group Beattlejazz. As a sideman, he cooperates with international stars like Jerry Bergonzi, Seamus Blake, Dave Kikowski, Gary Novak, Clarence Penn, Tim Haggans or Avishai Cohen.
