Pillow Queens
Since 2016's Calm Girls EP, Dublin-based band Pillow Queens have been quietly building a growing circle of alternative guitar fans around them, supporting the likes of IDLES, Pussy Riot and Future Islands and selling out bigger and bigger clubs in their native Ireland. Their breakthrough came with the release of their debut album In Waiting, which was praised by NME, DIY, NPR and The Line of Best Fit, among others, and Stereogum included them in their Band To Watch section. The Guardian, meanwhile, called Pillow Queens "the most exciting indie rock band in 2020."
