During the next event of the Music in Old Kraków festival, the emphasis on the word will be placed on the program “Song of the Earth” by the Sei terre vocal sextet, which speaks of love, sensuality, and nature. They will perform to the accompaniment of Monika Płachta, Joanna Konarzewska, and Anna Migdał-Chojecka, who will play works by Philip Glass, Frank Ticheli, Eric Whitacre, Ola Gjeilo, Edward Elgar, Arvo Pärt, and Morten Laudrisen.
Sei terre is a vocal sextet made up of female artists: Katarzyna Guran, Joanna Stawarska, Magdalena Pikuła, Joanna Święszek, Aleksandra Kalicka and Anna Bober. They are graduates of the Music Academies in Kraków and Katowice and are associated with the Karol Szymanowski Philharmonic Choir in Kraków. They give concerts in Poland and abroad as soloists and chamber musicians. They have participated in many prestigious festivals, including Misteria Paschalia, Opera Rara, Sacrum Profanum, Festival de musique Baroque d’Ambronay, Festival Oude Muziek in Utrecht, Edinburgh International Festival, Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, Music in Old Kraków and Film Music Festival. The vocalists have worked together in various ensembles for many years, united by their passion for music, chamber singing and the search for new artistic challenges.
