Piano Salon Christophori
The Piano Salon Christophori is on the one hand a workshop where grand pianos, especially historical fortepianos, are carefully restored, and on the other hand a place where they are played. At the Piano Salon Christophori, chamber music evenings are held every two to three weeks, in the style of the Paris Maison Erard or the Salle Pleyel, i.e. the piano salons that were attached to the factories and frequented by all the pianistic greats.
Efforts are made not only to present instruments that are appropriate to the respective music in terms of the history of time and ideas, but also to promote the comparison of modern concert pianos and fortepianos of different eras and styles. In addition, unrestored original instruments from the museum's own collection will be presented as contemporary documents.
