Pharmakon
Pharmakon is the pseudonym of Margaret Chardiet, an interdisciplinary sound artist from New York. In addition to her stints in punk groups and solo releases, she also works in film music, as exemplified by the soundtracks for Transfiguration (2017) and Sound of Metal (2019). The concerts for which Pharmakon is famous are extreme, transgressive mysteries in which electronic synthesis becomes a relay between the artist and the audience. Pharmakon's history dates back to 2006, when Margaret was 16 years old. Over the years, the project has evolved, remaining in the DIY spirit. The project's record output so far includes 5 albums, the most recent of which, Devour, and the three previous ones were released by the cult Sacred Bones Records.
